Unit 1 - Communications and Employability Blog
Tenth Entry
Attending meetings and getting employed
After sending my CV to employers i must keep a keen eye on my email, messages and phone book to look for contacts from potential employers who may want to employ me for a job. I must also attend the meeting that are arranged to discuss the job and show the employers why i believe i am suitable for it. By dressing smart i show the employer that i am engaged and want to show the best attitude to the job it also shows i do not dress in appropriately and it is not going to be an issue in the future. By talking to the employer/s with a confident and proud voice i show them i am going to confident and knowledgeable and finally by attending the meeting on time or slightly early i show the employer i am keen to start and punctual.

Ensuring i have a high quality and up to date CV
After improving my skills i must update my CV in accordance with me PDP (personal development plan) so that it has all my updated grades and information such as phone numbers, email addresses and other contact details. I must apply all the skills talked about in the past blogs to my work such as spellings, grammar and proof reading this is so when i apply for a job i can show my employer that i know these skills.
Sixth Entry
Being able to create and improve business letters and CV's.
I must be able to create and improve business letter / CV's in order to complete my CV and be able to get a job in the future my CV must look professional and well made i can do this by following a simple template but filling it in with my details this also requires remembering things such as to include my contact details such as a phone number, email, secondary contact number and a full name to be referred to when the company call me on business letters this is usually done via a signature and included into every email and letter that i would write. This requires me to be able to create a signature and know what one is.
Fith Entry
Confidence in Speaking in Front of Others.
In order to achieve my personal development plan i must be able to talk in front of others with confidence otherwise talking to a boss with no confidence makes me look rather unprofessional and not fit for a job this barrier to communication will also prevent me from being able to talk to customer making the company lose sale and most likely reduce sales the company could be getting this will definitely put me at risk of losing any job i may obtain in the future. To improve this i must work on reducing my social anxiety. This can be done by practicing speaking in front of people and improving my confidence.
Fourth Entry
Discovering What One of The 7 Different Learning Styles and what one i think is mine.
The 7 learning styles are how everyone learns as everyone learns in a different way where some may only be linked to one learning style some prefer two of them mixed together today i am going to find out what one/two of the 7 learning styles i prefer to learn by this will assist me in completing this course as it will inform me the best way to be taught and how i can use it to my advantage. These are the 7 learning styles.
These are:
• Visual: A preference of using pictures, Images and spatial understanding.
• Verbal: A preference of using words, in speech and writing.
• Physical: You prefer using your body, hands and touch.
• Aural: Using sound / music.
• Logical: A preference of using logic reasoning and systems.
• Social: you prefer to learn in groups with others.
• Solitary: Prefer to work alone / self-study.
I believe my learning style is part solitary and part visual as i prefer to see and use pictures to understand something and part solitary as i prefer working alone then in groups and find it easier to self teach myself some things.
Third Entry
Hand Writing
I am working on improving my hand writing this is because in the future if i produce a written document for a boss and it is comprehensible meaning they or anyone cannot read it. It will not only make me look unprofessional it will also make the company look unprofessional reducing their business putting my future job at risk i am improving this by doing regular handwriting practise and development. This is important to include while developing my skills in order to get a job in the future.
Second Entry
Public Speaking, Speaking in groups, Projecting your voice.
In order to achieve a successful job in the future i must be able to speak in groups, project my voice and speak in public this means i must work on social anxiety to overcome it and improve my conversations with people, in groups and in public this can overall help me with projecting my voice to the audience. I am doing this by speaking in front of family members and friends more often and regularly this will help me improve my confidence in the future in front of people i do not know as well.
